My story
Castelbello at Val Venosta’s Monte Sole Mountain is the home village of Arthur Ilmer. As he already pursues another profession, his organic apple orchards manages Georg Rechenmacher from Castelbello.
Georg attended the Fürstenburg agricultural college in South Tyrol and started working as a farmer when he was still at school. In 2010, the Mühlhaus farm converted to organic farming as a result of different courses, further specialized training and visits to apple orchards of other organic farmers.
For him, organic was a natural way to grow apples and to protect the traditional rural environment at the same time. The old horse chestnut tree in the middle of his apple orchard, which grew over time under the protection of nature, is the symbol of Georg’s conception. According to him, we have to leave nature as it is. Because our roots are strongly linked to the ones of nature.

Red Delicious

The image of the Red Delicious is difficult to resist. Seeing red can be really nice. And the red flavour is even more beautiful!

dark red colour, conical shape, oblong

juicy with very white pulp
Taste:
sweet, very aromatic with relatively slight acidity
Golden Delicious
The classic delicious
Golden Delicious is our main variety and, therefore, the queen of Val Venosta apples. That the most popular apple has a real quality, can be seen in its lovely red cheek. By the way, this is typical of fruits on a hillside.

juicy with very fine and soft pulp
Taste:
sweet with delicate acidity
