My story
Kuppelwieser Peter and his family live in the small village of Plaus, which offers rest and recreation at its old village fountain under the protected maple tree. Peter runs his farm together with his son Simon. They only need the help of extra pairs of hands during very work-intensive periods: In summer, for instance, when apples that are too small are eliminated from the tree so that the other apples can grow better. Or during the harvest season when his apples are picked from the trees. Like all apples in Val Venosta, Peter’s ripen under very special conditions: The great range of temperatures between day and night and the fresh mountain air make sure that his apples become especially crunchy and get their beautiful red cheeks. Low precipitation as well as about 300 days of sun per year confer his apples their distinctive aroma. Peter and Simon are still convinced of their decision to grow organic apples, because a natural production is very important for both of them.
