My story
Colsano is a small village at the foot of the Monte Sole Mountain in Val Venosta. This is the location of the Weinreich farm owned by Martin Lesina Debiasi, whose family have been here for three generations. Even though there is a modern side to the farm these days, you can practically smell the history of the slopes. The dry stone walls are made with the remains of the Via Claudia Augusta Roman road which crossed the Val Venosta millenia ago. For Martin, who attended the Laimburg technical college, working in agriculture was his heart's desire. He took over his father's farm and now grows Golden Delicious, Gala, Red Delicious, Braeburn and Fuji apples. He also has plums, cherries and persimmons, and the guests who come on holiday to the Weinreich farm get to enjoy the entire organic range. The Weinreich farm has been organic since 2010. A healthier type of agriculture was a key consideration in Martin's decision to convert: "for me, health has two different meanings: that of the land and that of human beings."
