My story
I worked as a mechanical engineer and was quite audacious when I decided to rent an orchard to cultivate scab-resistant Bonita apples in Glorenza in Alta Val Venosta. Even though I had attended different courses and seen a lot at my parents’ farm, I was very inexperienced at the beginning.
Even today, I still learn a lot and I daily feel that subtleties matter a lot in organic production. I have to watch carefully and patiently. I have to integrate useful insects, give structure to the trees by cutting and tying them, regulate the amount of fruit by thinning out by hand and work with nature and let nature work for me until the harvest.
I love it when nature is my friend. Treat nature well and it will treat you well. That’s pure „vida bonita“ for both. That's give and take – balanced and sustainable.
