My story
A 5,000-year old menhir from the Bronze Age was found in my hometown in Laces in 1992. My family’s agricultural roots don’t go back that far, but the awarded heritage estate certificate confirms a tradition of more than 200 years.
The fundamental principle in all these years was a healthy and honest production with apples that only contain what’s written on the packaging. I converted to organic a few years ago to emphasize this principle even more. Both during my training at the South Tyrolean technical college for fruit production, viticulture and horticulture and my advanced training as a horticulturist specialized in fruit production in Germany the idea of organic production became clearer and clearer and was finally put into practice.
The Faichtguat-Hof farm should both continue to adhere to its values and keep up with the times. As long as Val Venosta’s sun and the mild, southern climate are on my side, fruit production in this corner of the world is a wonderfully exciting and transparent thing.
