My story
The name "Burghof" means Castle Farm so it comes as no surprise that the Burghof farm in Laces is a real mediaeval castle. The walls date back to the 9th century and the castle was first documented in 1208. For a long time, it was the winter residence of the inhabitants of Castello Monte Sant'Anna. As of now the Burghof has been the home of the Oberhofer family for three generations. Since 1998, Klaus has been growing organic certified Golden Delicious, Gala and Braeburn apples on his orchards which are spread over three villages. A part of the production is immediately pressed on the farm to make organic apple, and apple and blackcurrant juices. "Our 'Eva' organic apple juice is extremely high quality and sells out every year." A gold medal won at the MOSTBARKEITEN tastings in Austria attests to this. "If you look at agriculture globally then you can see that organic farming offers more answers and solutions." The health aspect is central to everything: "the future of agriculture can only go in one direction and that is towards organics."
