My story
My lifelong dream came true: having my own orchards at the heart of one of Val Venosta’s most beautiful natural landscapes: the so-called Malles heath. But that was not enough. As head of a fruit agency I wanted to commercialize my own Royal Gala and Pinova apples. This is the non plus ultra for a person like me who had already worked at his father’s farm in his youth.
Even though I’m a part-time farmer only, I put my heart into it and my business manager Florian involves me every day. My orchards situated in the middle of pastures and grain fields with panoramic view of King Ortler, the highest peak of the Eastern Alps, are irrigated with fresh mountain water from traditional irrigation channels. The organic production method allows me to have great respect for this unique natural treasure called Alta Val Venosta.
Nature can be nature and produce very healthy and tasty apples here. This is precisely why I grow my apples in this area. The Malles heath is considered to be the largest alluvial fan of the Alps and so the soil around the village of Malles is particularly fertile.
