My story
I like observing. The changes in nature throughout the year fascinate me most. I can see them very well because my orchards are widely scattered between Corces near Silandro in Central Val Venosta and Prato in Upper Val Venosta. The different altitudes also affect vegetation. In this context, my internship at a farm in Verona helped me to sharpen my senses.
After my four-year training at the Fürstenburg agricultural college in Malles my internship in Verona was interesting to round off my knowledge. In general, you never stop learning as a farmer: you have to attend courses for first aid, work safety, use of pesticides, lifting platforms and tractors…but the most important one for me was the course to convert to organic farming. Because I’m a full-time organic farmer and my Pinova, Gala, Kanzi®, Stark, Bonita and Ambrosia™ apples are the fruits of this precious, natural knowledge.
Some of my orchards are situated along Val Venosta’s bicycle path, others are next to the Maria Lourdes pilgrimage church near Lasa. If you are interested in agriculture, you will immediately see how important biodiversity is for me. Somehow, Val Venosta is a large open-air museum and we, the producers, allow a transparent visit of our natural production method. I like boasting about organic. Everyone can and should see it because we love nature.
