Martin Zerzer’s apple orchard is situated in Tarces, a small village belonging to the municipality of Malles in Upper Val Venosta. Martin has entrusted his apple orchardto the expert hands of organic farmer Hansjörg Eberhöfer who runs it together with his own small farm.Hansjörg grows organic apples by conviction „because for me, this is the right way to get a healthy product.“He has been interested in agriculture since his youth: He attended the technical college for agriculture and forestry Fürstenburg in Burgusio and trained as a gardener. Hansjörgand his family run his Stocknerhoffarm and Martin Zerzer’s apple orchard who is equally convinced of organic production. He mainly grows crunchy „Golden Delicious“ apples with their red cheeks. This variety is particularly suited for production in Val Venosta with its many sunny days and little precipitation. Martin and Hansjörg both like these juicy and sweet-aromatic apples with fine fruit acid – and they are even better if they grow on your own apple trees in a natural environment.
