The Apple Paradise of tomorrow needs us today

We think and act sustainably. And not because sustainability is increasingly becoming a new trend, but because a sustainable approach is the only one that makes sense for us. Our guiding principles are clearly formulated: We want economic sustainability for our producers, ecological sustainability for our production area and social sustainability for the population and thus orient all our actions to these aims. This is an ongoing process, because a sustainable production constantly presents us with new challenges.

We take stock

From production to processing, packaging and distribution: Assomela, the Association of Italian Apple Producers, yearly examines the environmental impacts of Val Venosta Apples throughout their whole life cycle (Life Cycle Assessment, LCA). The results of this analysis are part of the EPD Environmental Product Declaration, which is based on the DIN EN ISO 14025 standard and contains the defined environmental performance indicators about our apples. These key figures are determined by the calculation of the life cycle assessment according to the ISO 14040 standards. We thus get information about the CO2 emissions of the whole production and specifically align our processes in an environmentally friendly way.

We set innovative accents as pioneers

Thinking ahead, working together and breaking new ground. We would like to promote development and be a model for an environmentally responsible fruit production. Our flagship projects allow us to set innovative milestones together with our producers and our network: in bee protection, in the promotion of biodiversity and in herbicide-free production.

Here in Val Venosta the soil conditions are fundamental for the production of quality apples. This is why we promote the production of apples without the use of herbicides.

Organic farmers with a face

Our organic farmers have names. They have faces. And they have their own reasons for being committed to the environment. Our BioGraphy portal reveals their stories and offers all consumers the opportunity to get to know the producers of their apples. All you have to do is type in the name of the farmer on the apple packaging. More transparency is not possible!
