Ingredients
for a cake pan with a diameter of 20 cm
250 g flour 150 g sugar 110 ml whole milk 60 g butter 3 eggs 8 g baking powder 30 g shelled walnuts Peel of 1 lemon Cinnamon powder 1 Golden Delicious
Beat eggs with sugar until creamy in a bowl with a hand mixer. Add lemon zest, cinnamon and sieved flour and baking powder and mix. Melt butter in warm milk but don’t bring to the boil, add milk drop by drop and mix with a whisk to get a smooth and lump-free dough.
Peel the apple and cut into thin slices. Add half of them to the dough. Pour the dough into a buttered and floured cake pan with a diameter of 20 cm. Sprinkle the surface with the remaining apples and coarsely chopped walnuts.
Bake in the preheated oven at 170° (hot air) for 45-50 minutes and cover the cake’s surface with aluminum foil if it becomes too brown. Serve lukewarm or cold.

The apple history begins in the Garden of Eden. And since then it has not lost any of its appeal. Not only does it look good to bite and it really tastes great, but it also makes our body well, and our Val Venosta apple producers know it not only from the saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". That's why they do everything possible every day to get the best out of their apples.
