Preparation
Sieve flour in a bowl and mix with sugar, baking powder and salt. Add cold melted butter and eggs and mix well with a wooden spoon. Then add milk little by little and finally add cinnamon. Mix well to get a smooth, creamy compound. Cover the bowl with clear film and let rest for at least an hour.
In the meantime, wash apples but do not peel and cut into horizontal slices. Cut some of them into halves and use the others to cut out stars with a cookie cutter. Sprinkle with lemon juice to avoid browning. When the rest time is over, prepare waffles with a waffle iron. Sprinkle with lots of powdered sugar, garnish with apple slices and apple stars and finish with plain ice cream and red currants, if you want. Serve immediately.
