It’s time for an aperitif! Surprise your guests with an easy, but very tasty recipe with typical South Tyrolean scents. These hearty short pastry turnovers filled with Golden Delicious apples, speck and Provolone cheese are the perfect mix of flavors to be enjoyed with a glass of wine in good company.

for 8 short pastry turnovers
2 short pastry rolls
2 Golden Delicious apples
100 g speck
100 g Provolone cheese
1 yolk
Poppy and sesame seeds

Preparation
Cut the cheese into cubes and the speck into strips. Roll out the short pastry on a wooden pastry board and cut out circles of 8-10 cm in diameter.
Distribute speck, cheese and apple cubes at the center and close with another dough sheet. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle with poppy and sesame seeds.
Bake in the oven at 180° C for about 15-20 minutes and serve the hearty short pastry turnovers with warm apples for an even more intense flavor.
