Preparation

Cream soft butter with sugar. Add vanilla sugar, lemon peel and eggs little by little. The dough should be very light and creamy.
Sift flour and baking powder and fold in by the spoonful together with the milk. Put the mixture into a greased springform pan and smooth.
Wash and peel the apples, divide them into quarters, remove the cores and spread over the dough. Do not press on as the apple pieces sink into the dough while baking.
Bake in the oven at 180 C for about 45 minutes.
Spread hot apricot jam on the cool cake and sprinkle with browned almond slivers.
